SENIOR DEVELOPMENT
AGES 13-15
ENTRY PREREQUISITES Competition Criteria:  4 x 13-14 BB Times  (Must be in four different distances)
Please note the following are considered the same distances: 400/500, 800/1000, 1500/1650

Practice Criteria:

  • Make 10 x 100s SCM @ 1:30
  • Make 6 x 200s SCM (odds FR @ 3:00, evens I.M. @ 3:20)
  • Make 10 x 50s kick @ 1:00 (all strokes)
  Character Criteria: Be coachable. Be a good teammate. Be hard-working. Take responsibility.
DESCRIPTION The focus of this group is to refine and continue to develop the swimmer’s skills. Conditioning, endurance training, and racing is the focus of Senior level swimming.  Swimmers generally compete in local "BRW" level swim meets and travel out of the region. Swimmers are encouraged to attend all scheduled sessions offered each week. Skills are still being developed to advance to the next level. The next progression is based on age (Senior White) or achievement (Senior Blue).
PREREQUISITES AND PROTOCOLS FOR PROMOTION

Promotion to SENIOR WHITE AND SENIOR BLUE will be offered on June 1 of their in-going freshman year in high school.

Swimmers may be eligible for Senior Blue if they:

  1. Have achieved two 15-16 A times and three 15-16 BB times. (Two different strokes and/or distances)
  2. Have a record of 80% attendance for 1 year
  3. Have completed the 13+ IMX
  4. They can complete the following practice sets:
    1. 10 x 100 S @ (FR @ 1:20, evens IM @ 1:30)
    2. 10 x 50 K SCM @ :50 (all strokes)
    3. 3 x (1 x 200 S FR @ 2:50, 1 x 200 S IM @ 3:10)

Senior Blue will have an additional move-up date for high school swimmers 

FUNDRAISING

All Senior Development families are required to complete 15 hours of volunteer duties per year. Participating in the teams anual Narhwalathon is highly encouraged with a goal of $200 Fundraising.
